BACKGROUND

Sally trained with and qualified into a Legal 500 firm and Tier 1 litigation team in the United Kingdom. She was admitted as a solicitor of England and Wales in 2009.

Sally relocated to the Cayman Islands and was admitted as an Attorney at Law of the Cayman Islands in May 2017.

NOTABLE INSTRUCTIONS:

Since relocating to Grand Cayman in May 2017 Sally has managed a complex and challenging caseload of local and international clients all with varying litigation needs. These have included:

  • Advising on, and case managing, the tracing and recovery of assets across 5 jurisdictions including the Cayman Islands, the US and South America. Successful applications were made for a post-judgment worldwide freezing order and third-party disclosure orders, (reported decision);
  • judicial review resulting in an application to seal the court file and prevent publication of the proceedings on the Public Register (reported decision);
  • advising on, and case managing, complex minority shareholder/ derivative action in relation to systemic breach of fiduciary duty, associated application for leave to continue and leave to serve out of the jurisdiction;
  • acting for a proprietor in a complex property dispute the facts and documentation for which dated back to the 1960’s. Judgment successfully obtained at trial and the subsequent appeal defeated; and
  • advising on, and case managing, subpoenas for the disclosure of confidential information served on a global accountancy firm
